Intention Statement

For the past 20 years, I have felt like a number. Simply, a slot to fill on a manning document. I was told what to do, when to do it, what to wear, how to dress, where to be, and where to live. Though I am grateful for my experience serving this country, I often felt like it wasn’t my purpose. It became normal to lose ambition, inspiration, and creativity. The military offers of sense of security to which it was easy to become complacent. When people would ask me what my plan when I retired, I simply said, “to create and empower.” My intention of this Mastery Journal is to keep myself motivated and on track to live towards my purpose. What’s my purpose? It is simple to leave everything I come encounter with in a better place. My plan is to create jobs for others and continue to empower my community. This journal will force me to take risks and accept new challenges as well as give weekly updates on what’s next. 

Over the next 12 months, I hope to learn the background processes of digital marketing. I’m excited to see how social media can improve sales, the use of email marketing, and pay-per-click advertising. With the businesses I create, I want to be able to take full control of the marketing and teach others how they can also be successful with digital marketing. 

Last, I hope to achieve mastery skills in the digital marketing. I would like to know all the websites that aid in the field. Also, I would like to know what memberships are beneficial for marketers to be a part of. I’m going to conclude my intention statement from our former First Lady Michelle Obama, that remains inspirational to me, “Success isn’t about how much money you make. It’s about the difference you make in people’s lives.”
