Mastery Reflection 2

According to my Digital Marketing Mastery Journey Timeline, my goals for the Digital Storytelling and Branding course was to enhance branding and digital storytelling skills. While I learned a lot and really enjoyed this course, I fell short bringing my vision forward in a video for the branding story. Week one was fun discussing and learning about my classmates’ brands. I struggled with trying to create a branding statement for myself, but received good feedback. Discussing the differences of Target and Walmart during week two, was extremely fun and right up my alley, as I’m a frequent shopper at both businesses.  One of my classmates, broke down the meanings behind Target and Walmart’s logos, along with the colors. I found his perspective fascinating.  The keynote presentation for the brand’s voice was very challenging for me, but after receiving my grade, it boosted my confidence back up.

Thus far, I’ve learned a lot from the course and on track with my personal goals. Professionally, I plan to build up my personal brand, starting with a detailed but concise branding statement. Figuring out what differentiates my brand from others will probably be most challenging, however I’m not discouraged from mastering it.

For my final project, I plan to incorporate what I’ve learned and revamp my branding story and strategy for the best digital marketing campaign.

I’m very curious on how my classmates did on their brand story. I struggled the most with this assignment. While I received good feedback, my lack of video and editing skills have me feeling defeated and not quite sure if that will be a strong point for me in my career, educationally or professionally.

In all, it was a great course. I was challenged, learned a lot and the discussions were really fun.
